What we call ourselves

We do not identify ourselves with any manmade or denominational name as many other churches do. We simply call ourselves Christians which is what God called the disciples in Acts 11:26. We are those who belong to God and aim to follow Him completely.

Our Worship

We believe that our worship should solely be as God has instructed us to worship Him in the New Testament. We worship every first day of the week (Sunday) (Acts 20:7). When we come together to worship we:

  • Worship in spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24)
  • Pray (James 5:16; Acts 2:42; 1 Timothy 2:1-2; 1 Thessalonians 5:16)
  • Sing, making melody with the heart (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16)
  • Eat the Lord's Supper on the first day of every week (Acts 2:42; Acts 20:7; Matthew 26:26-30; 1 Corinthians 11:20-32)
  • Give, liberally and cheerfully (1 Corinthians 16:1-2; 2 Corinthians 8:1-5; 9:6-8)

The Christian life

We believe that the Christian life is the best type of life, filling all those holes that many people feel. When we live the Christian life, we are not just to be Sunday-only Christians, but we are always mindful of how God wants us to live. We should live in a manner that upholds Christ's example for us (Matthew 16:24; John 14:6; Philippians 3:7-11).

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the Holy and inspired word of God. We believe that the Bible inspiration is seen through its supernatural knowledge (it talks about science and other things that were just recently discovered). We believe that it is literally from the mind of God. The Holy Spirit inspired certain men to write down exactly what God wanted written and it is still applicable to us today. The Bible is able to teach us how to live a life so that we can be with God in Heaven (2 Timothy 3:16).

a Child of God:

  • Can be lost (1 Corinthians 9:27; 10:12; Galatians 5:4; Hebrews 3:12-19)
  • But is given a law of pardon (Acts 8:22; James 5:16)
  • Is constantly cleansed by the blood of Christ as long as he walks in the light of God (1 Peter 2:9-10; 1 John 1:5-10)

Jesus

There are many different beliefs about Jesus. Some believe that Jesus never existed or that He was only a man. However, we believe that Jesus is God (John 1:1ff; 10:30). In addition to this we believe that the Lord Jesus Christ:

  • Loved the church (Ephesians 5:25)
  • Shed His blood for the church (Acts 20:28)
  • Established the church (Matthew 16:18)
  • Added saved people to the church (Acts 2:47)
  • Is the head of the church (Ephesians 1:22-23; 5:23)
  • Will save the church (Acts 2:47; Ephesians 5:23)

Becoming a Christian

There are many different belief in this world in regards to what is needed to become a Christian, or what must be done in order to be saved. We believe that the Bible gives us guidance on what one must do in order to become a Christians and be saved. These steps include:

  • Hear the Gospel (Romans 10:13-14)
  • Believe what you have heard (John 8:24)
  • Repent/change your life (Luke 13:3)
  • Confess that you believe what you have heard (Romans 10:9-10)
  • Be baptized through immersion in water (Acts 2:38)
  • Once you have done all this God adds you to His church (Acts 2:41, 47)
